Exact Online

Connect Exopen to Exact Online to automatically import accounting data via Exact Online's API.

Only the Netherlands instance of Exact Online is supported

Exopen's connection uses the Netherlands instance of Exact Online (start.exactonline.nl). Companies on a different regional instance (Belgium, Germany, United Kingdom, United States, Spain, or France) cannot be connected today.

To create and modify connections, you must be an administrator in Exact Online for the company you want to connect.

Create Data Source for Exact Online​

Exact Online data sources are created by logging in to our portal and connecting directly to your company in Exact Online.

  1. Log in to Exopen's portal.

  2. Go to Data Sources and click on New Data Source.

  3. Choose Exact Online from the list of available integrations.

  4. Choose whether the data source should be added to an existing company domain or a new one should be created, and confirm.

  5. Complete the authorization in one of two ways:

    1. If you have administrator rights, select I want to do it myself and continue the configuration by signing in to Exact Online.
    2. If you do not have administrator rights, choose I want to share a URL with a non-Exopen user and send the link to an administrator in Exact Online who can complete the connection without an Exopen account.

Once authorization is complete, an initial data run starts automatically. It takes between thirty minutes and a couple of hours depending on data volume.

Recreate​

Recreate a data source if it needs to be reconnected — for example if the person who originally approved the connection in Exact Online no longer has access to the company.

Same company required

The reconnection must be made to the same company (division) in Exact Online that the data source was originally connected to. If you sign in with a different company, the reconnection will be rejected.

  1. Log in to Exopen's portal.

  2. Go to Data Sources and click on the data source you want to recreate.

  3. Click on the three dots on the right and choose Recreate.

  4. Choose how you want to recreate the data source:

    1. If you are an administrator in Exact Online, choose I want to do it myself and follow the instructions in Exact Online.
    2. If you are not an administrator, send a link to an administrator who can recreate the data source without needing an Exopen account.
