To create .ini files, you must have an Exopen Report Developer license.

You use .ini files to distribute settings to other users so they can import them instead of manually entering all the settings.

Create an .ini File​

To export an .ini file:

  • Log in to Local Admin Mode.

  • Click Tools -> Generate Init File.

  • Select which settings you want to include in the file export, such as:

    • Connection to the system database.

    • License.

    • Local admin password.

    • Settings for logging in with Entra ID (if you are using this feature).

  • Once you have selected the settings, click Generate File and save it. Do not change the file name.

Import an .ini File​

On the computer where you want to import the settings:

  • Close Excel.
  • Place the file in the folder: C:\Users%username%\AppData\Roaming\Exopen Systems\ExOpen Report
  • Start Excel. Exopen Report will automatically read the file and delete it once the import is complete.
